Pittmans Field

A MAN has pleaded guilty after a man was threatened with a gun following a dispute over driving in Harlow.

The victim, a man in his 30s, had confronted someone in Pittmans Field at around 5.35pm on September 11, 2016 about his driving, claiming he was driving too fast and could put the safety of residents at risk.

The driver went into an address in the road, returning with a gun, pointing it at the victim and threatening him with it.

The victim called the police and armed officers attended but the driver had left the area.

On July 30, 2017, a man was stopped in Leigh Broadway, Leigh-on-Sea and was arrested.

Michael Butler, 32, of Queens Road, North Weald was later charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of Class B drugs.

At Chelmsford Crown Court today (Wednesday, January 24) he pleaded guilty to the charges.

He is due to be sentenced at the same court on Friday, February 2.
