This yearly celebration is usually held in the run up to Christmas but had to be postponed due to inclement weather in December. As a Passmores tradition and much anticipated event, it was decided to reschedule the party to take place this term as a counterpoint to the winter blues. Staff and student volunteers pulled out all the stops to ensure the guests were treated like VIPs, with each one receiving a present which had been donated by school staff.

Passmores staff member and organiser of the event, Lynn Fitzpatrick said: ‘Every year the guests really look forward to it and have an amazing time. They particularly love talking to our students who help out, and I receive so many compliments about what lovely young people we have here. This year we had more people attend than ever before’. Returning guests, Mr and Mrs Hibbitt, agreed, with Mrs Hibbitt saying: ‘We’ve been coming here for about four years now and we really enjoy it. We like to support the kids; they work so hard and it’s lovely chatting to them. They give us a good laugh and the entertainment is always good’.

The popular Passmores Pop Choir provided the music and was enjoyed by first-time guests, Babs and Herby Goward. Mrs Goward said: ‘It has been a lovely day. The food and the entertainment were amazing. The older students even managed to get us up to dance!’
