Man arrested after house fire in The Chantry

ESSEX Police have arrested a man in connection with a fire at a property in Harlow.
A spokesperson said: “We received reports shortly before 11.45am today, Wednesday, February 7, that a property in The Chantry was on fire.
Our colleagues from Essex County Fire & Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire.
A woman and two children who were in the premises at the time, were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
A 28-year-old man from Harlow has been arrested on suspicion of Arson and remains in police custody for questioning.
Witnesses or anyone with information about the incident are asked to call Harlow police station on 101, quoting reference 335 of February 7.

Firefighters rescued a woman from a first floor flat after a fire broke out on the external walkway to the property.
When firefighters arrived they found two children had already been rescued by neighbours who had helped them down from the first floor. Firefighters pitched a ladder to rescue a woman.
Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire and checked the property to ensure there was no smoke or fire spread. The fire did not affect the inside of the property.
Firefighters left the scene at 12:20pm in the care of the Police who are investigating the fire.
