AS we reported in January, Burnt Mill Academy assistant headteacher, Shawki Bakkar is on the road to running the London Marathon.

So far he has raised hundreds of pounds as well as shedding over six stone.

On Friday, he ran from Roydon Primary to Burnt Mill via Little Parndon, Freshwaters and Cooks Spinney.

Our editor joined him on the towpath between Roydon and Parndon Mill to find out more about Run Bakkar Run!

As we left him, we passed on a voucher for a free massage at Mike Varney Physiotherapy.
