Athletics: Warm tribute to Harlow Running Club founder, Rob Parsons

Athletics / Sun 11th Feb 2018 at 03:36pm

ON a cold but beautiful Sunday morning in a field between Mark Hall and Old Harlow, a number of local running clubs gathered for the latest leg of the winter cross country league.

Before they set off on the five mile trek, running club stalwart, Colin Moody paid tribute to one of the founders of Harlow Running Club, Robin Parsons, who has passed away.

Colin’s moving tribute was followed by a minute’s silence and then a warm round of applause.

As Colin said: “If it was not for Rob, we may not have had this race today”.

We stayed on to film the runners as they came back in and especially the final runner, who got a lovely reception from his fellow Ware Joggers.

To many, that sums up the spirit of running.
