A HARLOW man escaped jail after pleading guilty to drinking and driving in Harlow.

Norbert Perec, aged 34, of North Grove, Harlow pled guilty at Chelmsford magistrates court to the following.

On 23/12/2017 at Harlow drove a motor vehicle, namely Silver Hyundai on a road, namely Howard Way, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in your breath, namely 176 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

On 23/12/2017 at Harlow drove a motor vehicle, namely Silver Hyundai on a road, namely Howard Way otherwise than in accordance with a licence authorising you to drive a motor vehicle of that class.

Perec was committed to prison for 16 weeks suspended for 12 months.
Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 36 month(s).

He was fined £200.00 and ordered to carry out unpaid work for 180 hours within the next twelve months.
