HARLOWShemar 2 athletes have had a good week. It began with Dawn Jones winning the British Master’s V45 800m title. Her time of 2.41.99m sets her up nicely for the European Master’s Indoor Championships in Madrid: she races there on the 21st March.

The week ended with a small number of eligible athletes competing in the Hertfordshire Indoor Championships at Lee Valley. Grace Malcolm was fourth in the U17 800m in a time of 2.42.00m.

Freddie Henderson went one better by claiming third in the U15 200m. His time of 25.46s was a new PB. His weekend got better as he returned on Day Two of the championships to claim silver in the 60m, 7.74s was another new PB.

To complete a good weekend, also on Day Two, Amelia Loveridge was third in the U17 400m with a time of 68.4s.

Commenting on the week’s events, club chair Steve Lott said; “With just under a month to the beginning of the outdoor season, winter results suggest our athletes are in good shape. Many congratulations to all who competed this week, and our best wishes to Dawn for the European Masters.”
