Big changes for local charity Livewire!

LIVEWIRE are delighted to announce that we are expanding! They have been in existence for nearly 18 years in Harlow; running weekly Drama workshops, for free, for young people in our town.

They have been successful in having between 50 and 80 young people come and join every week and they have been able to run their famous “Theatre Challenge” projects during school holidays for up to 60 young people each time and all for free!

They have never charged any young person or parent any money for anything! They believe that the arts should be available to everyone as it is a fantastic way to build confidence, make fiends, be creative, explore important issues and make our community a better place to live.

A spokesperson said: “We are reaching out to more young people! We have a new programme of workshops available after the Easter holidays. With special thanks to The Essex Community Foundation, The Harlow Recreation Trust and The Big Lottery Fund we are able to deliver the following workshops starting on Monday 16th April!

“ Harlow Playhouse are delighted to be welcoming Livewire as a new Resident Company, Livewire and Harlow Playhouse share a common vision of continuing to make theatre in Harlow accessible. We hope that young people in Harlow will use these new Livewire session as an opportunity engage with Harlow’s Arts Community. “
