HARLOW Athletic Club’s Richard Chissario saw his hopes of gold go flat at the Commonwealth Games after his tyre blew in a final rqce.

Richard was competing in the final of the T54 category 1500 metres on the Gold Coast.

Having broken the Games record in the heats, there were high hopes he would medal.

He led from the front until the final lap but once the pace increased Richard’s response was flat.

He tailed in eighth.

Afterwards, Richard Chissario went onto social media to apologise to fans.

He does have stronger events ahead.
