Football / Fri 22nd Jun 2018 at 06:43pm

HARLOW Town fans received a shock today when last season’s player of the year, Jared Small left to join Alex Read at Tonbridge Angels.

Jared swept the board at last season’s Presentation Awards Evening, winning the Players’, Manager’s and Supporters’ Player of the Year accolades.

The following statement was made on the Tonbridge website.

“Jared Small today (June 22nd) became the second Harlow Town player to join Tonbridge Angels linking up with striker Alex Read who arrived just last week.

Angels Boss, Steve McKimm said: “He turned out against us in our home fixture with Harlow last season and we thought showed some quality in what was overall a disappointing spectacle for the fans. I’m delighted he’s decided to join up with us”.

Jared Small made the following statement on the Hawks website.

“I will forever look back at my time at Harlow with fond memories”

“I’d like to leave on record that I will forever look back at my time at Harlow with fond memories. We celebrated some of the best moments in my football career, most importantly the goal on my return after the birth of daughter.

“I’d like to thank all my friends at Harlow for the tireless support and work behind the scenes. Lastly, thank you to the management team for the faith you’ve put in me over the years.

“I wish you all the very best for the future.”

Harlow Town fans will hope to see some signings to replace both Jared Small and Alex Read. The pre-season friendlies are just a matter of weeks away.
