Athletics: Harlow produce more impressive performances at Mid Week League

HARLOW Running Club competed in the third round of the East Herts / West Essex Mid Week Road Race League on a 10k course at Welwyn Garden City. The men’s and women’s teams both finished in 4th place out of 6 teams and remain in 4th spot overall after 3 races.
In the women’s race Sharon Wright once again led the way for Harlow finishing in 3rd place out of 99 finishers in 43min 10sec. She was followed by Naralie Pennell 12th in 45.41 (PB), Sandi Rust 14th in 46.15, Leanne Bennett 38th in 51.48, Kerry Mavris 42nd in 52.30, Laura Prime 46th in 52.38 (PB), Debbie Barry 51st in 53.38, Janice Page 57th in 54.11, Wendy Schroder 64th in 56.03, Debbie Smith 65th in 56.13, Karen Moir 74th in 58.36, Vanessa Bull 75th in 58.39, Louise Peacock 77th in 58.42 (PB), Tracie Cook 84th in 63.08, Allison Bull 85th in 63.26, Kim Wookey 88th in 64.56, Paula Miles 93rd in 67.47 and Liz Roberts 94th in 68.00.
In the men’s race Craig Segal finished in 16th place out of 163 finishers in a superb 37.45 followed by Josh Shelton 36th in 39.31, Martin Westley 37th in 39.33, Colin Baker 46th in 40.15, Andy Terrell 59th in 41.07, Ryan Smith 61st in 41.07, Jim Martin 64th in 42.15, Lee Webber 70th in 43.07, Jon Steadman 72nd in 43.43, Andy Bradley 76th in 43.56, John Bull 77th in 44.05, Nick Ryley-Warren 86th in 45.11 (PB), Graham Saville 93rd and 2nd Vet 60 in 46.05, John Tennant 104th in 47.09, Steve Warren 109th in 47.49, Colin Moody 111th in 48.17, Jamie Jephcott 113th in 48.26, Martin Elven 117th in 49.07 (PB), Marc Witham 120th in 49.28, Chris McCarthy 128th in 50.28 (PB), Roy Steven 129th in 50.31, Jim Bates 143rd and 1st Vet 70 in 53.45, David Page 153rd in 57.32, Martin McColgan 155th in 57.50, Alan Wellbelove 160th in 62.46 and Ron Newton 162nd in 65.42.
Meanwhile at the Henham 10K Rich Hynes finished in 3rd place out of 194 finishers in a fantastic 37.47.
At the Quendon & Rickling 10K Jon Steadman finished in 22nd place out of 51 finishers in 45.02 and Pasquale Pellicchia was 40th in 50.23.
At the multi-terrain Trent Park Triffic Trail 10K at Enfield Steve Warren finished in 110th place out of 481 finishers in 49.19.
At the Centurion Triathlon at Stanborough Lakes in Welwyn Garden City, so named because the total distance is 100 miles, Paul Schroder finished the 1.25 mile open water swim, 84 mile bike ride and 15 mile run in 9hrs 08min 23sec.
At the Leeds Castle Sprint Triathlon in Kent (750m open water swim, 26km bike ride, 5km run) David Page finished in 342nd place out of 553 finishers in 2.02.52 and Janice Page was 360th and 2nd Female Vet 55 in 2.04.43.
At the Great East Swimrun Pairs Event, consisting of 4 swims and 3 runs over a total distance of 12km at Alton Water in Ipswich, Darren Rautenbach & Andrew Kitson finished as 6th pair out of 39 pairs in 1.44.59 and Michael Gornall & Paul Lawes were 28th in 2.18.15.
At Harlow parkrun Rich Hynes was first finisher out of 202 finishers in 18.30. At Bishop’s Stortford parkrun Justin Patten finished in 52nd place out of 333 finishers in 22.48 and Helen Brunton was 281st in 34.21.
At Plean parkrun in Scotland Jim Bates finished in 26th place out of 64 finishers in 26.36.
At Hasenheide parkrun in Berlin Celia Haigh finished in 65th place out of 92 finishers in 29.58.
At Clapham Common parkrun Brenda Clayton finished in 357th place out of 434 finishers in 31.24.
At Canterbury parkrun Jane Evans finished in 60th place out of 109 finishers in 31.29.
