Northbrooks: Man assaulted by “firearm”

Statement from Essex Police

“We were called to reports shortly after 1pm today, Wednesday, June 27, that a man had been assaulted on Northbrooks in Harlow by two teenage boys who were seen with what was believed to be a firearm.

Officers attended and carried out a search of the area assisted by the force helicopter but the firearm or the teenagers were not located.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was treated for minor injuries. No firearm was reported to have been discharged.

Enquires are ongoing.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Harlow CID on 101, quoting incident 533 of June 27.

AN area of Northbrooks has been cordoned off after reports of an assault.

The area across the road from the Water Gardens has been the subject of intense police activity since 1pm approximately today (Wednesday).

A passage way of houses has been closed off.

A source has told YH that a male has been assaulted by two shoplifters.

We have contacted Essex Police for further details.
