Athletics: Rob proves to be a midnight Ironman

THREE Harlow Running Club members completed the very hilly Stour Valley 50K (30M) race. John Bull finished in 47th place out of 126 finishers in 6hrs 30min 37sec in his debut at the distance. Dionne Jones was 63rd in 6.52.05, a PB by a fantastic 2.5 hrs, and Janice Page 64th, in her debut at the distance, in 6.52.06.
Meanwhile at the Midnight Man Half Ironman Triathlon (1.2M open water swim, 56M cycle, 13M run) at Dartford, Rob Lowe in his debut at the distance, finished in 31st place out of 58 finishers in 5.42.59.
At the Orion Harriers Forest Five, a 5 mile run through Epping Forest at Chingford, Martin Westley finished in 16th place out of 281 finishers in 31.21 (PB), Martyn Coulter 58th in 33.59, Louise Cootes 205th in 46.42 and Liz Roberts 262nd in 55.48 (PB).
At the midweek Lee Valley Aquathlon, in the long distance men’s race (500m lake swim, 5.5km run) Alex Smith finished in 3rd place out of 43 finishers in 31.40, Chris Donnelly was 18th in 36.47 and Paul Schroder 23rd in 38.52. In the women’s race Sharon Wright was 7th out of 17 finishers in 39.35, Louise Kedge 8th in 40.36 and Kerry Mavris 13th in 45.04.
At the short distance (250m lake swim, 3km run) Ryan Smith was victorious in 1st place out of 16 finishers in 17.07, a club record in his debut at the distance. Adrian Fell was 2nd in 19.03 (PB), Rob Lowe 4th in 19.40 (PB) and Darren Tiley 15th in 28.08. In the women’s race Gail Nicholls finished in 3rd place out of 16 finishers in 21.15, Janice Page 9th in 25.09 and Helen Barrell 16th in 32.02.
At Harlow parkrun Stuart Saville finished in 4th place out of 187 finishers in 19.55. He was followed home by Andy Terrell 7th in 20.45, Alex Smith 14th in 22.34, Paul Dixon 26th in 23.52, Steve Warren 27th in 23.56 (PB), Graham Saville 31st in 24.15, Andy Smith 32nd in 24.32, Alan Cootes 35th in 24.41, Kerry Mavris 38th in 25.31, Laura Prime 39th in 25.31, David Morley 43rd in 26.11, Andrew Smith 44th in 26.17, Chris McCarthy 49th in 26.33, Robin Lozeau 56th in 27.24, Debbie Barry 57th in 27.29, Darren Tiley 58th in 27.41, Jeff Mace 82nd in 30.08, Austin Nyamande 85th in 30.32, Pushpa Mistry 91st in 30.50, Hossein Erfani 97th in 31.20, Gemma Crozier 116th in 32.52 and Sara Coombe 181st in 53.56.
At Bishop’s Stortford parkrun Jason Haigh finished in 18th place out of 233 finishers in 20.53, Jim Bates was 56th in 24.40, Dave Page 78th in 25.53, Teresa Stickland 157th in 30.25 and Helen Brunton 233rd in 62.28.
At Redruth parkrun in Cornwall Andy Kitson finished in 5th place out of 101 finishers in 19.54 and Karen Kitson was 86th in 41.03.
At Clacton Seafront parkrun Lee Webber finished in 8th place out of 114 finishers in 20.47 and Sandra Webber was 49th in 28.34.
At Gunpowder parkrun in Waltham Abbey Rick Ricketts finished in 10th place out of 178 finishers in 20.57.
At Cheltenham parkrun Ben Usher finished in 56th place out of 503 finishers in 21.29.
At Rouen parkrun in France Paul Schroder finished in 10th place out of 49 finishers in 23.09 and Wendy Schroder was 22nd in 26.46.
At Ware parkrun Sean Flynn finished in 7th place out of 56 finishers in 23.29.
At Slough parkrun Alan Wellbelove finished in 71st place out of 165 finishers in 25.21 and Andy Kinney was 121st in 31.56.
At Bognor Regis parkrun Spencer Brooks finished in 83rd place out of 325 finishers in 26.15.
At Hertford parkrun Martin McColgan finished in 108th place out of 276 finishers in 26.54.
At Redcliffe parkrun in Queensland Australia Terry Pike finished in 73rd place out of 177 finishers in 28.58.
At Toulouse parkrun in France Darren Rautenbach finished in 24th place out of 24 finishers in 43.47.
