In addition there will be a traditional town crier leading the parade along with star dancers and 2 stilt cyclists. There will also be six child-themed acts along the 2.4 mile route to keep the crowds entertained.
It all starts from 12noon when the parade leaves Bush Fair to make its way to the Town Park in time for the Linkfest performing arts festival which takes place on The Showground.
Over 100 stewards will be working at the event.
Councillor Mark Ingall, Leader of Harlow Council, said: “After a long absence the carnival returned to Harlow last year to mark the town’s 70th birthday and proved so popular we vowed to make it an annual event again. It’s one of those things we want to give back to residents every year – a day of celebration. The Carnival is the perfect platform for local groups, organisations and businesses to showcase their talents and work and they will get to do this in front of hundreds of people who are expected to line the streets.
“With all those people taking part and helping to run it along with those on the streets watching it, the carnival will truly be the people’s carnival. We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.”
The route, the temporary road closures, the first aid and lost children points can all be found on the map at
