Active Harlow Sports Awards deadline approaching

THE deadline for nominations in the 2018 Active Harlow Sports Awards is fast approaching.

The Awards, which are nominated by the public, celebrate and recognise local sporting talent and achievements in the town.

As well as helping people to improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing, sport strengthens communities and brings people together. It doesn’t do this on its own however; it’s those involved in the background who make things happen and often give up their own time to go the extra mile to run clubs and classes.

It’s important we pay tribute and recognise the huge amount of work that goes on in our sporting communities, to keep our local sports clubs and organisations going.

There are categories for everyone from the washer-upper and kitbag carrier to the Olympic or Paralympic athlete so everyone involved in sport has a chance of winning!

The deadline for voting is Sunday 14 October 2018 and nominations can be made at www.harlow.gov.uk/sports-awards
