Milwards resident fined over £1000 after noise complaint

A HARLOW resident has been fined over £1,000 for playing music loudly.

James Kyriariakos, of Milwards, Harlow pleaded guilty to the following at Chelmsford magistrates court.

On 13/05/2018 at Harlow having been served with an abatement notice under section 80(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 by Harlow District Council, without reasonable excuse contravened or failed to comply with a requirement, namely by shouting and playing or permitting shouting and loud amplified music to be played at a level which was unreasonable thereby causing a nuisance to occupiers of nearby residential premises., imposed by the notice.

It is ordered that Application for forfeiture granted (S.80)(4) Noise Act 1996, S10(7) Schedule 3 Forfeiture Order.

He was fined £1210.00

Kyriariakos was fined for a similar offence last year.
