Athletics: Harlow runners take on Stort 30

SEVERAL Harlow Running Club members completed the Stort 30, a 30 mile race along the Rivers Stort and Lee footpaths between Bishop’s Stortford and Rye House, that was also the Trail Running Middle Distance Championships. All were making their debut at the distance. Rich Hynes was first home in 9th place out of 177 finishers and 1st Vet 35, winning the Gold medal in his category, in an excellent 3hrs 38min 43sec. He was followed by Laura Prime 66th in 5.03.00, Dionne Jones 68th and 3rd Female Vet 45, Bronze medal winner, in 5.04.16, Kerry Mavris 69th in 5.04.19, Michael Houlihan 94th in 5.22.42, Nick Ryley-Warren 96th in 5.25.23 and Janice Page 107th and 1st Female Vet 55, Gold medal winner, in 5.42.32.

Meanwhile at the Lausanne Marathon in Switzerland Colin Moody finished in 472nd place out of 1356 finishers in 3.47.38.

At the Lee Valley Velopark Half Marathon Rob Lowe finished in 4th place out of 111 finishers in a fantastic PB time of 1.15.26.

At the Ashford & District 10 Mile race Andy Kinney finished in 154th place out of 193 finishers in 1.47.01.

At Thurrock 10K Paul Schroder finished in 12th place out of 83 finishers in 45.51 and Wendy Schroder was 35th in 55.33.

At the Haven House 10K at Woodford Green Dave Goosetree finished in 23rd place out of 68 finishers in 56.23.

At Harlow parkrun Martin Westley finished in 2nd place out of 189 finishers in 18.49. He was followed home by Andy Kitson 3rd in 19.26, Craig Segal 5th in 20.02, Martyn Coulter 6th in 20.11, Lee Webber 9th in 20.43, Andy Terrell 12th in 21.56, John Bull 14th in 22.16, Paul Schroder 15th in 22.27, Marc Witham 21st in 23.09, Steve Warren 23rd in 23.14, Richard Fryer 25th in 23.23 (PB), Steve Cowlin 30th in 24.06, Ryan Smith 32nd in 24.17, Michelle Hyde 39th in 25.01, Jamie Jephcott 41st in 25.07, Graham Saville 42nd in 25.08, Alan Cootes 43rd in 25.09, Alejandro Prados 47th in 25.44, David Morley 51st in 25.55, Robin Lozeau 56th in 26.22, Louise Cootes 60th in 26.34, Kelly Grey 64th in 26.43, Andrew Smith 68th in 26.55, Spencer Brooks 69th in 26.56, Martin Elven 91st in 28.42, Hannah Martin 98th in 29.01, Jane Evans 101st in 29.35, Helen Barnes-Martin 104th in 30.21 (PB), Alison Bull 111th in 30.44, Paula Miles 114th in 31.15 (PB), Pushpa Mistry 118th in 31.51, Wendy Schroder 130th in 33.23, Teresa Warren 152nd in 35.48 (PB), Hannah Cox 167th in 39.17, Karen Kitson 176th in 42.27 and Sara Coombe 181st in 48.47.

At the Gunpowder parkrun at Waltham Abbey Jon Waight finished in 4th place out of 195 finishers in 21.09, Hannah Wenlock was 117th in 30.23 and Joy Hale 125th in 30.51.

At Ware parkrun Sean Flynn finished in 9th place out of 64 finishers in 23.33.

At Bishop’s Stortford parkrun Justin Patten finished in 99th place out of 314 finishers in 24.48, Alan Wellbelove was 108th in 25.11 and Helen Brunton 277th in 35.47.

At Walmer and Deal Seafront parkrun Jim Bates finished in 38th place out of 94 finishers in 24.13.

At Hackney Marshes parkrun Holly Davis finished in 134th place out of 262 finishers in 25.35 (PB) and Paul Cadogan was 176th in 27.20 (PB).

At Braintree parkrun David Page finished in 92nd place out of 285 finishers in 26.06, Andy Kinney was 148th in 29.06 and Janice Page 213th in 33.05.

At Haverhill parkrun in Suffolk Teresa Stickland finished in 43rd place out of 73 finishers in 29.49 and Brenda Clayton was 48th in 30.42.

At Cambridge parkrun Anna Robey finished in 442nd place out of 499 finishers in 35.51.

At the Supernova 5K race at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Lindsey Peasrson finished in 254th place out of 798th finishers in 30.38 and Sara Coombe was 674th in 44.35.
