REVEREND Ernie Guest is leaving his parish of St Stephen’s and going down to south Essex.

His parishioners have bid farewell and pupils at the local primary school, William Martin C of E school have also said goodbye to Rev Guest.

Could we just add a personal tribute.

Editor of YourHarlow. Michael Casey: “My brother Gerard was gravely ill. I had just returned from seeing him in Ireland. I was at the Bush Fair Fayre and was about to interview Rev Ernie Guest.

I made reference to my brother’s terminal illness. Ernie asked for my brother’s name. He then told me, in a caring christian way, that he would pray for Gerard.

“I thought that was a kind thing to do. Ernie did that, in my opinion, first and foremost, because he was a kind person.

“All the best Ernie”.
