Athletics: Usher ushers in personal best at Olympic park

HARLOW Running Club were represented at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 10K where Ben Usher finished in 21st place out of 410 finishers in a personal best time (PB) for the distance of 39min 46sec. He was followed by Andy Kitson 22nd in 39.50, Kerry Mavris 132nd in 49.53, Gail Nicholls 148th in 50.42, Janice Page 179th in 52.41, Louise Kedge 204th in 54.08, David Page 219th in 55.15 and Karen Kitson 407th in 1.26.14.

Meanwhile at Harlow parkrun Andy Terrell finished in 3rd place out of 123 finishers in 20.54. He was followed home by Lee Webber 6th in 21.15, Alan Broughton 7th in 21.24, Sharon Wright 8th in 21.26, Martyn Coulter 9th in 21.50, Catherine Ridge 15th in 23.34, Bobby Draper 16th in 23.40, Steve Warren 17th in 23.43, Sandi Rust 20th in 23.56, Paul Dixon 21st in 24.09, Andy Smith 23rd in 24.18, Steve Cowlin 25th in 24.31, Robert Scott 26th in 24.36, Graham Saville 32nd in 25.06, Jim Bates 39th in 25.40, Hossein Erfani 57th in 29.06, Paul Cadogan 71st in 30.03, Debbie Cooper 86th in 33.15, Pushpa Mistry 92nd in 34.44, Teresa Warren 93rd in 34.55 and Spencer Brooks 108th in 38.54.

At Hackney Marshes parkrun Martin Westley finished in 5th place out of 165 finishers in 18.07 (PB), Vanessa Bull was 69th 23.50 (PB), Dean Bull 84th in 25.27 (PB), Sandra Webber 99th in 26.27 (PB), Liz Roberts 122nd in 28.59, Lindsey Pearson 137th in 30.51 and Sara Coombe 164th in 47.29.

At Hatfield parkrun Danny McCree finished in 6th place out of 152 finishers in a 18.40.

At the Gunpowder parkrun in Waltham Abbey Jon Waight finished in 7th place out of 100 finishers in 21.14, Debbie Barry was 34th in 26.16 and Alan Wellbelove 70th in 31.51.

At South Woodham Ferrers parkrun Mark Hayward finished in 5th place out of 73 finishers in 21.54.

At Porthcawl parkrun Martin Elven finished in 73rd place out of 300 finishers in 23.58.

At Ware parkrun Sean Flynn finished in 9th place out of 43 finishers in 25.41 and Martin McColgan was 15th in 28.17.

At Coldham’s Common parkrun in Cambridge Teresa Stickland finished in 193rd place out of 255 finishers in 30.10 and Brenda Clayton was 207th in 31.19.

At Bishop’s Stortford parkrun Julie Bradley finished in 163rd place out of 232 finishers in 31.09 and Helen Brunton was 203rd in 36.21.
