Goodness is coming to Parndon Mill

SHOWING the humorous side, Liz and Kirsten’s previous exhibition in 2016 “Silver Fish and Vermin” looked at the subject of creatures normally rejected and seen with distain. They took this show to Hastings after its successful debut at Parndon Mill. Now they have decided to examine “Goodness” similarly, in all its connotations from angelic and heroic to shocking and possibly stomach churning.

They both share a love of the curious, story telling, recycling of materials and ideas, fun, history and playing with words. They plan to twist the word Goodness, celebrating it, flipping it upside down and turning it inside out! The exhibition will include prints, paintings, sculpture and an ALPHABET of GOODNESS.

Liz and Kirsten both have studios here at Parndon Mill and are two thirds of Parndon Mill Printmakers with Tania Durrant. As a group they exhibited at Cambridge Original Print Biennale in 2018.

Liz has a degree in fine Art from the University of Hertfordshire and a masters in fine art printmaking from Cambridge School of Art. In 2010 she won the Gwen May award from the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers and exhibited with them at Bankside Gallery and the London Original Print Fair at the Royal Academy. She has had a studio at Parndon Mill since 1999 where she produces narrative paintings and prints.

Kirsten is a graduate of Central St Martins College of Art and Design in Fine Jewellery Design and Manufacture, and a Goldsmiths Bursary award winner. She has sold her designs through John Lewis, The Pier, and through the Spring and Autumn Gift Fairs in Birmingham.

More recently she has had her illustrations published in children’s books and has sold her prints to International buyers through the Gallery here at Parndon Mill, local and national exhibitions, and through private commissions.
