Passmores Academy students taught portrait painting skills

Education: Secondary / Mon 18th Feb 2019 at 10:08am

LOCAL fine artist Jack Freeman, recently stopped by Passmores Academy to hold an interactive portraiture session for pupils and staff. Jack demonstrated the techniques and styles that he most often uses within his portraiture work as well as his use of charcoal as his material of choice.

Jack showcased his extraordinary skills whilst talking to our students about his life as an artist and simultaneously sketching a stunningly true to life portrait of our very own Mr Gladwin (Head of Dragon House). Students and staff then used the techniques they had learned to sketch their own portraits of each other.

Year 11 GCSE art student Lily Pearson stated, “He is an incredibly talented artist and this experience has been a great opportunity for me to learn new skills.”

Jack Freeman will make a welcomed return to Passmores later in the year to showcase more artistic techniques and styles.
