HARLOW MP Robert Halfon rose on the floor of the House of Commons to highlight the plight of staff at the Aspire Academy in Harlow.
Mr Halfon said: “When Aspire, an alternative provision academy in Harlow, was taken over by TBAP multi-academy trust in 2017, they had a healthy balance and a strong business plan.
“Since then, it has been revealed on BBC Panorama that TBAP had been in serious debt and and their public accounts were found to be inaccurate.
Aspire has been dragged down with them. Today, I asked the Schools Minister for Ofsted (Nick Gibb) to inspect multi academy trusts to stop this situation occurring again to support Aspire who want to be brokered to another multi-academy trust”.
