YOU know there are some people who are just nice and there are some people that just run and there are people like Theresa Stickland who is nice and runs.
Theresa has just completed her 250th park run.
She passed the significant milestone at Chelmsford at the weekend with a very creditable 28.16 for the 5k course.
She was joined by a group of parkrun friends. Fellow runner Kelly Burgess praised her running buddy. She said: “Theresa is kind, considerate and so approachable. I admire the work she does in supporting Junior parkrun as well.”
Chelmsford was Theresa’s first parkrun back in June 2013 and so she thought it was fitting to run no 250 there.
However, Theresa, who represents Harlow Running Club, is most often spotted at the Harlow parkrun which she has completed 97 times.
Theresa is also something of a parkrun tourist as she has also taken part in over 70 different runs from Edinburgh to Jersey.
Whilst runners come and go, there is something constant about Theresa that sums up the spirit of parkrun.
Always a smile, never a fuss and always willing to help others. This is re-inforced by her support for the Grange Paddocks Junior Parkrun in Bishops Stortford.
An accomplished cricketer and hockey player, we think Theresa embodies the true spirit of sport.
Well done Theresa.
