Reunion for Playscheme Foldcroft members
Friday August 2nd 2019
Shark Public House, Hobtoe Road, Harlow.
7.pm onwards
This event has been organised by local resident, Jackie Tandy (nee Roche).
Jackie said: “This Playscheme was our lifeline and we all had the best childhood years at this place for many many years and still to this day reminisce about it even though we are in our 40’s 50’s 60’s.
“From trips to Walton, town park pony rides, Athlon camping competing against other Playschemes in Harlow by the River Stort, Harlow carnival floats, netball, football cricket competitions, skateboard ramp (probably one of the first in that era), camp making. The list is endless.
“Table tennis, bulldog, cards, bonfire display organised , rope swing, zip wire, drought in 1976 hose provided etc etc
“The response to this reunion has been phenomenal and we will all be attending this event to pay tribute to the man who has moulded us from young kids to the adults we have become today Mr Bob Gray (Robert) our Playscheme leader who we admired then as we do now.”
Recall the one at Bush Fair, happy days.
I can remember it well , even before Bob, smudge was his name. And the eurem, big wooden structure.. And the camps the kids made, you could hire tools, Great memories..
