FOUR projects have been selected for Harlow SOUP’s next community crowdfunding event on Thursday 28th November at Pemberley Academy, Harlow

Four community projects have been selected for the August SOUP:

William Martin School; funding for a multi-sensory room for children with additional needs

Upwards with Downs Sibling Support; funding to provide a day out for the siblings of young people with Down’s Syndrome

Volunteer Equipment at Pets Corner, Town Park and Harlow Museum; funding to provide new gardening tools for the volunteers

Harlow Men’s Shed; funding to continue the work of the men’s shed around mental health issues which affect men

The event will see the four projects pitch their idea in four minutes to attendees, as well as answer four questions from the audience who will then vote for their favourite project. The event is “pay what you feel” entry, and all of the money raised on the door is awarded to a project at the end of the night.

Doors will open from 6.30pm on Thursday 28th November and will feature live music from the Voices of Harlow choir, two homemade soups, bread, cakes, tea/coffee and more.

Previous winners Harlow Stroke Support Group, who were awarded £660 towards their project, will be presenting to attendees about how they have spent SOUP funds.

This Harlow SOUP event will also be holding a collection for Harlow Foodbank.

Previous winners of Harlow SOUP have included homelessness charity Streets 2 Homes, Aspire Support Learn (ASL), the Butterfly Volunteers, Harlow Rock School, and Pact for Autism who all received hundreds of pounds towards their respective projects.
