General Election 2019: Old Harlow councillor set to fight St Helens North

THE deputy leader of the Harlow Conservatives has been selected to stand as the prospective parliamentary candidate for St Helens North.

Cllr Joel Charles has an uphill task as the sitting Labour MP (Conor McGinn) has a majority of 18,406 but anyone who knows cllr Charles, knows he relishes a challenge.

Joel Charles put a short message on his Facebook page. He said: “I am delighted to be the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for St Helens North.

It was great to start the campaign by meeting local members and councillors (John Cunliffe, Cllr Jones and Cllr Mussell) to discuss the key issues affecting the wider local area”.

We will be dropping in on his campaign over the next four weeks.
