THE Harvey Centre celebrated a fabulous start to their crafty Christmas celebrations on the weekend of Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November.

This weekend saw the launch of their mini Etsy market on the first floor of the centre. The market will be open from 11am – 4pm each Saturday and Sunday until 22nd December, with a fabulous array of unique and special hand-crafted gifts, decorations and more from small, independent businesses from the local area. Plus, customers can also enjoy some tasty treats from local company, JK Munchies.

A traditional town crier called out season’s greetings across the weekend and helped to spread the festive cheer throughout The Harvey Centre. The town crier working at The Harvey Centre is the unofficial town crier for the Royal Family and has announced the births of the Royal babies.

A festive face painter was busy making up children up with their design of choice – completely FREE of charge across the Saturday and will return each Saturday until Christmas.

Phoenix Live Lounge had mulled wine and live music on offer for shoppers to enjoy, while the centre’s FREE* fun, creative Christmas craft workshops, where children could make their very own angel, proved really popular with children.

Upcoming workshops include:

Saturday 30th November – Gnome

Sunday 8th December – Christmas card

Saturday 14th December – Christmas decoration

Sunday 22nd December – Christmas jar

*Workshops are completely FREE for children to enjoy with a £2 donation to Phoenix Resource Centre requested for adults.

Bryan Young, Centre Manager at The Harvey Centre said, “We’re thrilled at the popularity of our crafty Christmas events and activities. It was lovely to see so many families taking part and we look forward to welcoming many more throughout the festive season.”
