HARLOW Council’s spring clean campaign has been shortlisted for a Keep Britain Tidy Award.
The council is a finalist in the Great British Spring Clean category of the Keep Britain Tidy Network Awards 2020. This award recognises councils which helped promote, engage and deliver Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean.
The council’s campaign, which ran from 22 March to 23 April, involved around 1,900 residents who helped collect around 400 bags of litter from the streets and parks of Harlow.
Each group that took part was awarded £100 from the council for fundraising activities or to use as a donation to a local charity.
The council would like to thank all the residents and groups who took part in making the campaign such a success in Harlow. The council will find out whether it has won the award in February 2020.
Lets hope they have cleaned Tendring and Partridge Rd as they are covered in mud from the work at the old Passmores school, it should be a stipulation with this type of work that a wheel wash is installed, reported to council yesterday afternoon.
