Stansted Airport team bring Christmas to patients early with festive gift delivery

THE Stansted Airport team brought Christmas to patients early with a festive gift delivery on Friday, 20 December.

They kindly donated more than 50 boxes of gifts for patients on our children’s ward, neonatal intensive care unit, and care of the elderly ward.

The boxes featured gifts such as toys, colouring books, games, bonding squares, baby bottles, socks, handkerchiefs, blankets, and hats and gloves.

The team visited our Dolphin Ward (children’s ward – pictured with the team) and Gibberd Ward (care of the elderly ward – pictured with the team) to meet patients and share in some Christmas cheer.

Jamie-Lee Enderson, community relations advisor from London Stansted Airport, said: “This has been such a wonderful initiative that I’m delighted so many of our colleagues have got involved in.

“We wanted to bring a little bit of Christmas cheer to our local hospital this Christmas by bringing presents to the patients on the children’s ward, neonatal intensive care unit, and the care of the elderly ward.”

Fiona Lodge, head of children’s services and nursing, said: “Thank you to Stansted Airport for thinking of our patients and delivering these lovely gifts.

“It is wonderful to enjoy some festive spirit together at this time of year.”

Caroline Ashton-Gough, dementia clinical nurse specialist, said: “Our patients were delighted by this kind and thoughtful gesture from Stansted Airport.
“We are very grateful for this wonderful selection of gifts for our patients.”
