Harlow Council apologise (again) over missed Christmas bin collections

News / Sun 5th Jan 2020 am31 10:48am

HARLOW Council has apologised for a large amount of missed bin collections across the east side of the town.

On Saturday morning, residents wheeled their packed recycling bins to the top of the street or the end of the drive as they hoped to get rid of their Christmas rubbish.

It was not to be.

A Harlow Council spokesperson on Twitter told frustrated residents from Spencers Croft, Longfield and Little Brays (to name just three areas) that: “There’s been disruption to collections since after Christmas due to an increase in parked cars, extra traffic to and from tipping points and extra waste to collect.

“This has had a knock in effect for other collections but they hope to collect from the missing areas on Monday”.
