ESSEX Police were called to the town centre today (Monday) after reports of a large disturbance involving gangs of youths.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: “Officers responded to reports of a disturbance on the Broad Walk in Harlow at around 1pm today, Monday 13 January.
It was reported that a group of teenagers was fighting outside Costa Coffee.
When officers arrived, the group had dispersed and no-one has presented themselves with any injuries.
We remain in the area and anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote incident 423 of today’s date.
A few months ago this area was being called a 'no go' area, by shopkeepers and others, strenuously denied by Harlow council. Extra patrols were being despatched, to disperse any rowdy groups that were assembling.
