A PERSONAL trainer, who will tackle this year’s Virgin Money London Marathon, raised more than £1,250 towards her fundraising target with a charity quiz night.

Caroline Collins, of Healthy Body Healthy Mind, will tackle the 26.2-mile course on April 26 for the Brain and Spine Foundation.

She is running in memory of her brother-in-law Daniel Collins, who died of a brain tumour 12 years ago, aged 31.

Caroline, of Church Langley, Harlow, said: “Despite being plagued by injury during my training so far, I am more determined than ever to complete the course in memory of much-loved and missed brother-in-law, Daniel.”

Caroline raised £1,300 at the quiz night, which was held at Sawbridgeworth Cricket Club on Saturday, February 29 where over 80 people attended.
She said: “It was an amazing evening and thank you to everyone who came and supported me. I’m overwhelmed that the evening raised a massive £1,300 through ticket sales and the raffle.”

Many local businesses were kind enough to donate amazing raffle prizes to Caroline including Avant Garde, Eden Hair & Beauty, The Garden of India, Caroline Mitchell Hairdressing, Chandini restaurant, House of Harlequin and many more. Caroline said “I was totally overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone and thank you so much”
