Primary school pupils thank our NHS heroes

PUPILS at Purford Green Primary, Potter Street Academy and The Downs Primary demonstrated their love and support for NHS workers with a challenge unlike any they have ever done before. Whilst singing the chorus of the Queen classic, ‘We Are the Champions’, pupils, parents and school staff displayed lovingly created posters and banners in the windows of their homes.

These contained drawings and heart-felt messages which expressed their gratitude to all the workers who are keeping us safe during these unprecedented times.

Associate headteacher of Purford Green Primary, Rhonda Smith, who organised the challenge said: ‘Even though the majority of pupils are not in school, it was great to see that we could all come together as a team across the Trust in a virtual way for this highly deserving cause. I’m extremely proud of all of the children who took part in the challenge demonstrating that our core values of empathy and respect sit at the heart of our community’.
