Please help Harlow’s George to follow in the steps of Captain Tom

Charity / Fri 24th Apr 2020 at 11:33am

A DETERMINED boy from Harlow is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Captain Tom by raising money by walking with his frame.

George’s mum Jenny said: “We have been watching Captain Tom on television and George saw that he has a walker as well.

George is two-years old and cannot walk due to Spina Bifida. He is a full time wheelchair user.

“I asked George if he wanted to walk like Captain Tom and he said yes. So I got all his supports on and got his walker out. So far he has only taken a few steps on but he is very determined.

We set up a just giving page to raise £100 and planned to do 15 steps a day so we could get 100 Steps just in time for Captain Tom’s birthday next week.

George blew it out the water and had done 100 Steps in 20 minutes! We couldn’t believe it! So we are now planning on 100 Steps every day until next Thursday.

“As for the fund raising he smashed his £100 target too and just six hours in we were at £600!!

I’ve included a photo of George and here is his link.
