Hundredth box of hope for Harlow
REVEREND Jokey Poyntz, co-ordinator of the Hope for Harlow scheme designed to help families in need has expressed her delight at the hundredth box being sent out.
Rev’d Poyntz said: “Little did we know when we planned to launch Harlow Holiday Lunch Clubs at Easter what would face us all with the closure of our buildings and so on, but in response, on Easter Day, with the help of our partners at the Red Balloon Foundation we were able to launch Harlow Boxes of Hope (a way of still offering food and fun to families in Harlow in a different form, delivered safely to their homes).
“Five weeks later, we at Harlow Holiday Lunch Clubs/Boxes of Hope (a partnership between Harlow Churches and the Red Ballon Foundation) are delighted to have sent out our 100th Box of Hope to Harlow families, and to have joined many wonderful community groups in Harlow in doing our best to help in this Covid-19 crisis.
“It is our hope that every family in receipt of one of our boxes will enjoy the activities and have fun together, in addition to receiving some much needed necessities, and that this will bless and sustain them until such time as we can resume our Holiday Lunch Clubs again.
