Government warns Mark Hall Academy that it may have funding terminated

THE TRUST that runs Mark Hall Academy has been warned that it may have its funding terminated.
Last month, YH reported that the school has been rated “Inadequate” following an Ofsted inspection.
The reported cited:
• Safeguarding procedures are not good enough to keep pupils safe
• Bullying and the use of derogatory language are not tackled well enough
• Curriculum plans are not advanced enough to meet the needs of the different
pupils in the school
• Leaders do not give teachers enough guidance on how to support pupils with
SEND and provision for pupils is weak
• Too many teachers do not manage pupils’ behaviour well enough
Now matters have taken a further turn for the worse, with a letter from the Regional’s Schools Commissioner (RSC) to the Sutton Coldfield-based Academy Transformation Trust (ATT) warning it may have its funding removed.
The Trust have until July 23rd to respond. The letter notes that this is the third ATT school to be rated “Inadequate”.
A number of education experts in Harlow note that all the other senior schools are run from Harlow or near Harlow making Mark Hall Academy an exception to this.
There is a possibility that it could be taken over by another Trust.
Over in Thurrock, The Ockendon Academy was rated Inadequate. It was then taken over by the Harris Federation that ran schools (inc. Harris Academy Chafford Hundred) just a short distance from The Ockendon Academy. Perhaps there is a successful Academy chain near Mark Hall that may be being lined up to do a similar job?
The full letter can be seen below.
Won’t leave an address cause I’m a student and don’t want to be identified but the teachers are so poor to the students don’t care about bullying or anything also mrs butler and mrs tippy (vice principle and principal) both said the n word to a black student standing up for a racist student. They’re disgusting
