Athletics: Harlow runners are back on the roads

HARLOW Running Club Triathlon Section entered five teams in the Bedford Team Relay Triathlon last week. The 3 person team format used was 3 x Swim(750m), 3 x Bike(20k) and 3 x Run(5k). Each athlete completed the swim, the bike, and the run in relay; all three members of the team must complete each discipline in turn before the team moves on to the next discipline.
Harlow’s first team of Pas Blackwell, Fieke Blackwell and Ben Usher finished in a fantastic 1st place out of 69 teams in an excellent time of 3hrs 46min 40sec. Paul Schroder, Ryan Smith and Andy Smith finished in 21st place in 4.10.20, Darren Rautenbach, Nick D’Alton and Andy Kitson were 25th in 4.13.48, Louise Kedge, Gail Nichols and Paula Reynolds were 40th in 4.26.17 and Janice Page, Michael Gornall and Alan Cootes were 61st in 5.19.53.
Meanwhile at the Chelmsford Mile of Miles Cross Country race Martin Westley finished in 35th place out of 90 finishers in 5min 30sec.
On Sunday at the New Forest Middle Distance Triathlon (swim 1.9km / cycle 90km / run 21.1km) Nick D’Alton finished in 236th place out of 272 finishers in 5.37.17.
At the St Albans 10k Pas Blackwell finished in 33rd place out of 298 finishers in an excellent 35.54 and Martin Westley was 55th in 37.22.
At the Watford Aquathlon (750m Open Water Swim / 5km off road run) Janice Page finished in 101st place out of 139 finishers in 46.03 and David Page was 127th in 54.32.
Next day at the TriFarm Trail 10K at Chelmsford Janice Page finished in 25th place out of 39 finishers in 1.09.09 and Debbie Smith was 26th in 1.07.10
