THE MP for Harlow, Robert Halfon has told Harlow Labour to “stop playing politics with the Grenfell tragedy”.
His response comes after Labour criticised him for voting against an amendment in the House of Commons on Tuesday.
Mr Halfon said: “I understand that the Harlow Labour party’s natural reaction is to oppose everything the Government and I do, but I would urge them not to play party politics with, of all things, the devastating tragedy of Grenfell.
The truth of the vote they mention is clearly set out by the local Member of Parliament for the area in her statement below.
“The Fire Safety Bill has been brought forward by the Government to ensure that this can never happen again and I am supporting that Bill.”
