Stewards Academy students raise hundreds for charity

Education: Secondary / Mon 14th Sep 2020 at 08:00am

THREE community minded Stewards Academy students have raised hundreds for charity.

Friends James Bull (year 7) and Ryan Campling (year 8) organised a cake sale to raise funds for St Clare Hospice.

They wrote out invitations and invited neighbours and friends. On the day they were joined by Archie Crowley (year 8) and ran a socially distanced cake stall.

They served drinks, took payments and gave the correct change. They also sanitised garden furniture and cleaned up after the event in James’ front garden.

The most successful cakes sold were fresh strawberry cream scones.

All three boys are hoping the fundraising will count towards their Bronze Phoenix Challenge.

A total of £308.72 was raised Including a £30 donation from Harlow Running Club
