Athletics: Harlow Running Club enjoy day in the sun

HARLOW Running Club had a great turnout at the St Clare Hospice 10k with 44 runners helping to  raise much needed funds for the hospice. The race took part on a warm Sunday morning on an undulating course at Hastingwood, just outside Harlow, that was quite windy in places.

First home for HRC was Pas Blackwell in 8th place out of 210 finishers and 2nd Vet 40 in an excellent time of 35min 58sec.

Other age related performances include Kevin Smith (2nd Vet 50), Kerry Mavris (2nd Female Vet 45) and Janice Page (3rd Female Vet 55).

There were also PBs from Daniel Jephcott, Jason Fox and Kerry Mavris.

Meanwhile at the 3 Village 10 Mile race at Carlisle Andy Kinney finished in 90th place out of 105 finishers in 1hr 47min 16sec.

The Duxford Dash 10k takes place within the historic RAF site of the Imperial War Museum Duxford, Europe’s largest air museum. Paul Dixon finished in 211th place out of 663 finishers in 50.39, Gary Mead was 251st in 52.54, Robin Lozeau 326th in 55.52 and Mick Gleeson 513th in 63.39 in his debut at the distance. 

At the same location in the 5k race Ben Usher finished in 15th place out of 292 finishers in 18.52, Terri Wiley was 51st in 23.11 and Debbie Cooper 131st in 31.04.

At the Fyfield Footpath 5k, an off road race set in the heart of the Essex countryside, Kirk Crudgington finished in 8th place out of 171 finishers in 19.43 and Antonella Crudgington was 78th in 29.29.
