AS Harlow enters Tier 2 restrictions a number of Harlow Council facilities will reopen from tomorrow (Wednesday 2 December 2020), but the Civic Centre will remain closed to the public for now.

The decision to keep Harlow Civic Centre reception and cash office closed to the public for now will be kept under review. Residents can still pay bills and access services online at www.harlow.gov.uk and over the phone by calling 01279 446655 Monday to Friday 9am to 4.45pm.

From tomorrow the following council-run facilities will reopen with COVID-secure public health measures in place:

Pets’ Corner – the main facility will reopen 7 days a week with entry by booking only at www.harlow.gov.uk/parks-and-culture/pets-corner. Animals will continue to be exercised in the outside paddocks in The Showground.

Outdoor sports facilities (including Harlow Skate Park and town park outdoor gym) – these facilities will reopen but users must follow the government public health guidance and follow the rule of 6.

Leah Manning Centre – the centre will reopen to provide day care to a small number of residents.

Harlow Playhouse – the theatre’s alternative Christmas programme will take place with social distancing measures in place. The bar and café will not be open, access to Panto patrons and those attending classes only.

Residents are being urged to take care and stay safe when using these facilities and socially distanced at all times and follow the hands, face and space public health guidance.

Harlow’s Community Hub remains open for residents who need help and advice at this time. The hub is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and can be contacted on 01279 927005.

Parndon Wood Nature Reserve operated by ECCO will also be reopening to the public from tomorrow. All precautionary COVID measures will stay in place such as a sign in sheet upon arrival as well as hand sanitising stations inside and outside. The reserve’s opening hours will stay the same, Wednesday-Sunday 11am-4pm.
