Covid-19: Number of cases in Harlow increases

THE NUMBER of cases in Harlow has increased again.
Figures released today (Thursday ) show a rate of 322.7 cases per 100,000.
It has been steadily climbing since Sunday: 251.8, 265.8, 276.8 and 301.2 on Wednesday.
This was an increase of 54.4%, which is one of the biggest percentage increases to date

There were 281 cases.
YH understands that PAH has 80 Covid in-patients including two on ventilators.
There are 162 outstanding test results.
PAH has tested 19,974 patients since the first wave with 871 positive.
Harlow is 42nd in the chart. An increase of three places since Wednesday.
Old Harlow and Newhall continues to be the area with the highest number of infections. It has 44 cases and a rate of 495.2 per 100,000.

If we are looking for positives then Harlow is still hovering around the 40-50th place mark.
On November 19th it was 251st and then the rate started to rise and it climbed up the chart. By November 30th, it was in 53rd place. Its highest position was 36th on December 7th.
The infection rate tells a similar story. Back on September 30th it was 29.9. October 16th: 68.9. November 8th: 118.3. November 22nd it was 206.7. December 2nd it was 221.7.
Yes, it would be great to know where people were being infected. How many in care homes, how many people with underlying health conditions, how many people caught it at Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Just shows that a lot of people in Old Harlow and Newhall think they're better than everyone else and that the rules and advice don't apply to them.
