HARLOW pensioner, Bessie Cowdrey was the first Harlow resident to get the Covid-19 vaccine.
The ninety-year-old Sumners resident went to the Lister House surgery, near Staple Tye, on Tuesday morning along with a family member.
Bessie is part of the first group of residents being invited to have a vaccine in that she is over eighty-years of age.
We spoke to Bessie’s granddaughter, Hannah, who was clearly very proud of her gran.
Hannah said:” I am very proud of my gran. She had no doubts about getting her vaccine and she urges everyone to get it in order that we can get rid of this horrible virus as best we can”
Remarkable Bessie has four children, twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Bessie will be returning in three weeks time to get her second jab.
