FOUR Harlow based pupils travelled over to Northwood School near Watford for this event which had many of the best runners taking part from the South Of England.

The races were started by small waves

In the Under 11 event over a muddy 2k Rudy Parker-Bayes had a brilliant run to place an excellent second just four seconds down on Thomas Ford from Chiltern who beat Rudy by nearly half a minute in race one back in October. Rudy ran 8mins 15. There were about 70 boys in that field.

In the girls race over the same course with about 65 starting out, Autumn Le Chevalier Jones also ran brilliantly to place third in 9 minutes exactly just nine seconds behind behind the winner. Just three seconds behind Autumn was triathlete Jasmine Hall in a fine 5th place with 9mins 03. Chloe Jennings also ran well for 42nd in 10 mins 37.

These four pupils train twice a week at the town park in Harlow and a road run midweek over 3k

All four athletes represented Woodford Green with Essex Ladies.
