A FUNERAL procession for Harlow nurse Barclay Mason made a special stop inside Princess Alexandra Hospital on Tuesday morning.
New Zealander Barclay was a senior charge nurse when he died of Covid-19 last month.
The hearse stopped outside the Accident and Emergency Department where hundreds had gathered to pay their respects.
When it stopped a Maori in traditional dress, delivered a powerful address.
After that, Rev Alison Taylor of Potter Street Baptist Church called for a minutes silence and then delivered a prayer.
Afterwards, a funeral took place at Parndon which was hosted on line by Daniel Robinsons.
Through a fantastic fundraising effort, Barclay’s body will be re-patriated back to his native New Zealand.
Nice to see social distancing outside the hospital.... No wonder Harlow is top of the covid list.
Another Nurse taken by the dreaded COVID!! RIP Barclay. Thanku for being part of the NHS x
Barclay will never be forgotten. He was an amazing Nurse. R.I.P in your home of New Zealand 💙
