Concerns for welfare of deer in Newhall

Entertainment / Sun 17th Jan 2021 at 10:07am

Update: Monday 0900 hrs

Countryside have been informed this morning and they are going over this morning to ensure that the fencing doesn’t come down and enclose the wildlife in the future.

RESIDENTS have expressed concerns for the welfare of deer in the Newhall and Church Langley area.

Over the last few days, deer seem to have go themselves trapped in area cordoned off by developers.

The area of concern is north of Hall Road (that runs down to the kennels) across to the B183 near Fawbert and Barnard roundabout.

Local report that they are rarely seen in this particular area. There are concerns that the on going construction work has caused then to be disorientated.

The deer are usually seen in certain areas of this area; behind The Gibberd Garden and the land at the back of the Rainbow and Dove through to the garage at Hastingwood.

YH contacted Old Harlow councillor, Joel Charles has told YH that he will contact Harlow Council and the developers with the hope that they will ensure deer do not become trapped in sealed off areas.

I'm surprised there's any habitat left for the Dear to be honest big shame really we are meant to be looking after the wildlife not killing off their habitat just saying.🕷🕸😢
