Harlow man charged with racially aggravated offences in town centre

A HARLOW man was arrested and charged after an incident in the town centre.
Essex Police attended after a report that male was threatening passing members of the public and spitting at people.
Daniel Watkins, 43, of no fixed address, was charged with one count of assault and two counts of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour with intent to cause harassment, alarm, or distress.
He was also charged with one count of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour with intent to cause harassment, alarm, or distress that was racially aggravated.
He appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on 26 January and is next due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on 23 February.
