Team Lister Vaccinate over 1400 in one day!

AS a trustee of the Harlow Health Centres Trust (who built Lister Healthcare Centre, https://hhct.org.uk/) and as Chief Scientist for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society I was privileged to participate in this record achievement of vaccinating so many people in a day!

The day started at 8.30am and we finished at 6.30pm – the team were marvellous, dedicated, and so professional.  Everyone got ‘stuck in’ and helped without a single word of complaint or frustration and trust me it was hard graft!  To have 1400 people to come into the health centre is not trivial – it’s a complex logistical exercise with respect to parking and assembling patients into and out of the centre in a way that adheres to social distancing and prevent patients bumping into each other!

I know at one point the queues were long and patients had to wait and the weather was against us but the patients were wonderful and so grateful to receive the vaccine – many thanking us, acknowledging the huge work of the team and efficiency to the teams involved.

I would like to acknowledge Dr Jey who has led by example in getting the job done and showing the ambition to embrace this vaccination challenge!

Also to Yvette with her boundless energy in coordinating all the marvellous volunteers (so many to mention but I will publish a full roll call in my next blog) and to Janet, Miranda and Pushpa the retired GPs who have been vital in dealing with referrals and the helpers/administrators who came in to help us beat the record Lisa, Georgia, Tisha, Amanda, Kamilla, Jill, Sue, Amanda, Rebecca, Wendy, Sarah, Teresa, Danielle, Julia, Karen, Paula and Nonette.  

Of course a big shout to my fellow Pharmacists, Dipak, Asha, Jaymini and Alison.

I am very privileged to be part of this wonderful team at Lister – you have been truly outstanding!
