Covid-19: Overview: How is Harlow doing?

News / Sun 14th Feb 2021 at 01:43pm

WE appreciate that we throw a lot of Covid-related statistics at our readers.

Since March 1s, 2020, we have published 1, 126 Covid related stories.

So we wanted to put our foot on the metaphorical ball and let you know what the stats are saying as of Sunday February 14th.

There are now 158 cases in Harlow. That is a long way down from a month ago (Jan 13th) when there was 1178 cases.

The rate of 181.5 cases per 100,000 is the lowest since November 20th.

There are 60 Covid in-patients at Princess Alexandra Hospital. On January 5th, there were 204.

On Saturday, Lister House vaccinated 1001 residents. Our editor was number 1001.

It all looking very positive but.

As the health experts stress, this is an air-borne virus and it can “turn on a sixpence”

In our experience, everyone seems to know 99 people keeping to the rules but everyone seems to know at least one person who, for whatever reasons, is ignoring the guidelines.

The indicators are that the schools return on March 8th. What happens then? We will just have to watch the statistics and see.
