I recently received a reply to my letter to the CEO of Essex County Council saying that no repairs are planned to Hookfield in Bush Fair Harlow.

I have replied to that letter with a “stage one, section 56 Notice of the Highways Act 1980” see below. If ECC fail to respond in a satisfactory manner, that is to say if they fail to agree to repairs, I will be moving on to a second stage notice that will be issued at magistrates court.

None of this should be necessary, a number of people in Hookfield have signed a petition asking for the road surface to be repaired. A commitment to do so within a reasonable time is all that is required.
